How to Mount and Frame a Wooden Jigsaw Puzzle
Wooden jigsaw puzzles are not only a great way to pass the time and relax, but they can also be a beautiful piece of art when completed. Once you have completed yours, you may want to mount it to display it in your home. To help you with that, we will go over some tips and tricks on a great and effective method for mounting a wooden jigsaw puzzle.
Materials needed:
- Clear drying glue
- Adhesive Film
- Foam brush or sponge brush
- Puzzle mounting board, 2 cardboard pieces or foam board
- Wax paper or parchment paper
- Frame with an appropriate size
Step 1: Prepare your work area
Make sure your work area is clean and dry before you begin. Lay down some wax paper or parchment paper to protect your work surface from any glue drips or spills.
Step 2: Apply adhesive film
Apply the adhesive film on the front side of the puzzle (surprise: we’re including adhesive labels for free in our future designs)! Make sure to cut the excess from the sides.
Step 3: Apply puzzle glue
Apply a thin layer of the clear drying glue using a foam brush or sponge brush to the back of the completed puzzle. Make sure to cover the entire puzzle evenly, paying extra attention to the edges.
Step 4: Mount the puzzle
Carefully place the puzzle onto the mounting board or foam board, aligning it as accurately as possible. Gently press down on the puzzle to ensure that it sticks to the board.
Step 5: Let it dry
Allow the puzzle glue to dry completely. This usually takes around 24 hours. Make sure to keep the puzzle flat while it dries to prevent any warping or bubbling.
Step 6: Frame the puzzle
Choose a frame and make sure it has the appropriate dimensions. For puzzles with thick wooden pieces, it's a good idea to pick a frame that has slightly larger dimensions to accommodate the pieces comfortably.

After buying a second puzzle with a small wooden easel, I realized that the stands are to hold up the small reference puzzle that comes with it.

I am also trying to figure out how to use the small wooden stands that come with the puzzle. They don’t seem to fit the puzzle and the puzzle wouldn’t’ stand with just the layer of plastic adhesive on the back. Also, there are 2 square pieces that I assume are adhesive strips, but there are no instructions for mounting.j

Puzzel Presto says don’t apply their saver film to the front of the puzzle and your instructions say to do the opposite… can you please confirm the procedure? Thanks.
