Just as described

Great picture and hours of funI love the little animal pieces. It's not a terribly difficult puzzle over all, but well designed and the image is complex enough to satisfy. The pieces are all well cut, no conjoined twins in my box. I like that it comes with a stand for the box front that makes it easier to locate troublesome pieces. Very enjoyable.

This was our second puzzle purchase and it was a doozie! This was way more challenging than our first (YinYang). We split this one into two nights. The scalloped outer edge, twists and turns of colors and patterns were challenging enough. Then you have the task of keeping the outer edge intact because the pieces don't necessarily lock together. Some just butt up next to each other, making the puzzle difficult, but so fun!! We loved this one, and our sense of accomplishment was compounded thanks to the level of difficulty. Quality puzzle, beautiful colors and presentation. Highly recommend for gift giving. From the box, to the storage bag, to the poster and post card included - very well done!!

Challenging with beautifully made pieces. This is a very well made puzzle with unique and challenging pieces. Some pieces are animal shapes and nature themed, a few are more abstract like fire and Thors hammer. The laser looking cuts are very intricate, a couple pieces were not fully separated but overall in a set of 500 there were not many. Some of the pieces are quite tiny and would be difficult for people challenged with fine motor skills, or poor eyesight. Due to the challenging aspect of this puzzle I suggest using a dedicated spot not your dining room table. The box it arrives in is marginally ok for storage as the lid has no way to be secured closed. It does come with a burlap sack for the pieces. It’s very giftable for those who love challenging puzzles.

My favorite puzzle!! Puzzles are part therapy; part family time. We have a 5' x 5' ottoman in a "U" shaped couch. It was bought to bring family & friends together. And that includes games... and puzzles! I had to stop using tables - hence the modified serving tray.This puzzle is absolutely the best - bar none! I have several wood puzzles but these are just exceptional. I've had to have my neck fused in order to regain hands/arms. Fine motor skills is kinda hit/miss with me. My physical therapist suggested puzzles. And, I took that to heart. But having something with a bit of depth and that is so fun!! I don't feel like I can break the pieces & they tend to stay put when I lay them down.The puzzle comes in a wonderful wooden box (about the size of a thick book) and fits easily on the bookshelf with my books. It also comes with an earth-friendly burlap bag to keep the pieces together when storing. It takes me a while to do puzzles now but I swear they did the best job cutting these! They are not easy to put together. They shapes & sizes are well designed. I swear, ever piece looked like a money, elephant or camel until I figured out that the animals/plants have the shape marked out on the reverse. Nice! I am definitely getting more of these!! Zen Chalet has an Amazon storefront & there is also additional info on the reverse of the image card. This is seriously a great investment. Whether you get it for therapy or just to get the family to stay put long enough to talk to them. I have friends who will be getting these for the holidays~

Awesome puzzle - larger than most wood puzzles! This is a great puzzle, the pieces are pretty thick and take a little work to fit together but that makes it hard to put incorrect pieces together as well. The colors are vibrant and beautiful. I gave this as a gift to my wife and she loved it, we have a number of wooden puzzles now and this one is by far the thickest of them all. It is very well made and and enjoyable to complete.

Incredible intricate design! This puzzle is fantastic and so beautiful. The pieces are very intricate and colorful and there are so many precision cuts on the the pieces. I have never seen a puzzle made out of wood, let alone with these very precise cuts that seamlessly fit together. A lot of the puzzle pieces are in the shapes of animals and the plain wood backing shows clearly which animal it is. The puzzle is challenging but that is part of the fun. This would make a great gift. The puzzle is so beautiful it could be framed. The only one downside is one or two of the pieces had tiny wood chips on the edges of them, but not really big enough to be a major drawback.

I'm addicted to these wooden puzzles! This is about my sixth wooden puzzle. While they are more expensive than regular puzzles--they are so much more enjoyable to put together. The colors are beautiful and the pieces are fun to hold.When I finish a puzzle, I then pass it on to a family member or friend so they can experience what it is like to put together a wooden puzzle. Hopefully, in time the prices for these puzzles will come down.

Gorgeous wooden puzzle with tons of interesting figural pieces! This is a gorgeous laser-cut wooden puzzle with interesting cutting and tons of figural pieces. The wood is a sturdy 5-ply stock with a light-colored (birch, maybe?) laminate on the top and bottom. The cutting style is mostly made of wave-like hooks (rather than traditional knobs) which makes for beautiful pieces. I also like that the figural (shape) pieces have little laser-cut details to make them more fun to look at and enjoy. The printing is really nice, too. It's not just some printed paper that has been glued onto the wood prior to cutting, but feels as though it's been printed directly onto the board. And it feels almost a little rubbery, like a vinyl-based ink or something. Regardless, the puzzle feels high quality and it makes for a great assembly experience.

It was fun! It took a long time to put it together but that is what I look in a puzzle.

High quality, challenging but well-made! I'm still in the process of finishing this puzzle but I'm really impressed with the high quality of the pieces and the overall design of the puzzle. It's definitely a challenge because it's not the traditional shape of most puzzles so I can't separate the edge pieces from the others but that's also the fun part. I'm enjoying the shape of the pieces and the unique aspect of the whole puzzle, and I look forward to finishing it up so I can display the final artwork!

Beautiful and challenging. I love puzzles this is a wonderful addition and look forward to getting more. It is one of the hardest puzzles I have done with the unique shapes and no real border to follow but wonderful design and finding where the different things such as Loki's helm and different animals fit in is a fun element.

Very High Quality and Very Hard! In case you didn't pick it up from the description or default product images, this tree is themed towards Norse mythology. There are some pieces cut in the shape of Thor's hammer, Loki's Horns, etc. That said, there are also pieces that I think were a lion and a toucan, among others, and I don't know if I would generally think of those in the same category as Norse culture. Though, since it is the World Tree and lions and toucans live in the world, it could still make sense. It is kinda like a Viking Noah's Ark situation. So yeah, pretty sure this is meant to be Yggdrasil the World Tree that connects all the realms of the universe.Once you get it going, like about half done, you should be able to start figuring out where the pieces go pretty quickly. However, before that, this is a hard puzzle. Without a traditional edge, with the pieces being pretty much random shapes, and with the almost overwhelming blend of colors and shapes, this was one of the harder puzzles my wife and I have ever done. She almost threw in the towel after two nights of getting almost nowhere. After I sat down with it for a few hours, I started getting somewhere, and we were both able to build off of that. So despite "only" being 500 pieces, you should really get your money's worth as an activity.The pieces themselves were very nice. There were a few minor scuffs on the printing of some pieces, and one looked a little burnt, probably from the cutting of the pieces.Assembled, there is a bit of give in the pieces and they tend to want to come apart a bit if you slide the puzzle around. It wasn't until after assembly that my wife decided she wanted to glue it together, and sliding it onto a piece of poster board ripped about 10-20% of it apart, despite some cleverness on my part to make it easier. So, I'd say if you have any inclination towards keeping it together, build it on something you won't mind getting glue on; it'll save you the grief of transferring it later. Also, we originally were building it on a cloth tablecloth, and the pieces were sticking to the tablecloth when we would try to slide around assembled sections to fit them together. So I'd also recommend building it on a smooth surface whether you intend to save it or not.It is a really nice quality puzzle and would make a good gift for puzzle fans that usually only do the flat rectangular puzzles.

Nice Thick Pieces! Much thicker wood than many of the puzzles I've done. Good quality pieces that fit together nicely. The color of the puzzle is actually brighter than what is shown, it's quite beautiful.The shapes of some of the pieces did not sit well with me, I would consider them "dark" - weapons, demons, etc. This is the only reason it didn't get five stars. I will say that these dark pieces were the minority. Most of the shapes were animals, nature and more pleasant things.

The pieces are wood, and their shapes are not your normal puzzle shapes.Even the box is beautiful, with a miniature version of the puzzle painted in an inset shaped like the puzzle on its front.This puzzle would make a great gift. It's somewhere between a game for the family and beautiful art. Highly recommended!

BEAUTIFUL puzzle! The COOLEST puzzle I have ever seen! Nice thick 3/16", 3-ply plywood with a beautiful high quality image. All kinds of really cool pieces (wolf, tree, campfire, moose, giraffe, etc) that make this as challenging as it is beautiful. It comes in an equally beautiful box (though does not close tight/securely) with a burlap sack to put the pieces in. This would make amazing gift for any puzzle lover.

Impressive detail! The level of detail in this puzzle is insane! The pieces are beautifully designed and carved, with the coolest hidden addition ever: animals! I've found frogs, moose, a toucan...A puzzle within a puzzle (see how many animals you can spot!)! The presentation of this high quality wooden puzzle is awesome too! There's a really cool linen bag to put all of the pieces in, a full color picture guide, and a really nice wooden box to hold it all together. I can't wait to finish this puzzle and be able to hang it on my wall!

Beautiful puzzle! I can tell this will keep me busy for a long while! Each piece is nice and thick. It’s fun to pull out each piece and see what you get next. Well made and really beautiful!Update: 20+ hours later and several weeks we finally got it done. My 20 yr old engineer son spent the most time on it. For the rest of us it was frustrating at how difficult it was. Really rewarding now it’s finally done!!!

Definitely a brain teaser but fun! Came well-packaged, and the quality of the puzzles are high quality. They are thicker than the puzzles we've worked with, and the pieces are very unconventional. They are differently shaped from animals to plants to items which I found to be very interesting. This was indeed more difficult than other puzzle sets we've worked with, but it was quite fun. Took us three days to finish it casually, and the result looks so beautiful. Pretty stoked to solve more puzzles from ZenChalet, and would definitely recommend this set to anyone looking for a challenge.

Beautifully intriguing puzzle! This puzzle has unusually great graphics and the pieces are very well cut out. It is difficult but compelling. If you love art and puzzle making you will love it. After building it one might want to glue it together and hang it on the wall.

For those who like a challenge! The pieces are very nice to touch, solid and precisely cut. They fit nicely together and are a great conversation maker looking at all the designs. The mandala print adds an extra complexity! This puzzle will keep you busy for a nice long time!

Unique and fun puzzle! My little sister loves puzzles and I thought this would be an amazing gift for her. Boy, was I correct! She adores it, it looks amazing and is much more difficult to put together than most 500-piece ones. She even is considering gluing the pieces to put the puzzle on her wall because it IS SO BEAUTIFUL to look at! Recommend this if you or your loved ones like puzzles!

Beautiful Puzzle! I couldn’t wait to open this beautiful puzzle. It came in a very nice sturdy storage box and has a neat little burlap bag to store the pieces. The pieces are well made with vibrant colors. The price point may seem high for a puzzle but I believe it is a great value. This is more than a puzzle it is a work of art that will last a long time. So much more than a puzzle. This puzzle did not disappoint and turned out to be so much more than a just a jigsaw puzzle, it's quite a work of art. Instead of putting it back in the beautiful wooden box it came in, I glued it and hung it on my wall. I will definitely be getting more to give as gifts. Very high quality, well worth the price. Comes with a cloth bag and wood box to store it in. Box top has full color puzzle image.

Challenging But Worth It! I enjoy these types of wooden puzzles. I am also a fan of the Tree of Life so this puzzle is perfect for me. Once it's completed, I will be gluing it to something so I can hang it on the wall. The colors are beautiful, the pieces fit perfectly. Unlike a regular jigsaw puzzle, the pieces are oddly shaped and some are really tiny. It could be very frustrating for cetrain puzzlers to complete due to the piece sizes and that they do not interlock. But that's all part of the fun when doing this type of puzzle.

Received as a gift; very nice. Nicely fits together. A few pieces are dependent on other pieces to hold them in place. This isn't the case with the majority of pieces, but there are a few that won't stay in place unless they're interlocked with the surrounding pieces (and this does include some edge pieces). All in all, it was fun and not very easy, nor too difficult, to assemble. There were no scratched/damaged pieces in my puzzle set. Once complete, I flipped it over and used gorilla wood glue and a paint brush to bind the pieces together. No backing was necessary. I did not apply any glue or paint to the front. Hung up with some Velcro strips. See pic.

Loved it! I received this puzzle as a gift from a family member. I’ve done other wooden puzzles before and this one was very fun yet a bit on the challenging side. I actually loved that it was a bit more challenging because it was so much more satisfying when it was all put together. It is such a vibrant and beautiful puzzle with a lovely color combination. I would highly recommend this Tree of Life puzzle for yourself if you like puzzles, or even if you don’t it’s definitely a family friendly fun way to spend time. It also makes a great gift!

Lacks quality compared to similar. Updated review: This company promptly fixed our puzzle problems. They didn't question it and sent out a new one immediately. Whenever in doubt reach out.We've bought several of these puzzle styles. This one was the most expensive and the quality was lacking. 3 pieces the curves were broken(one missing totally), the color was smudged on several, and too many corners had paint chipped. Beautiful design, just poor packaging or production value. I don't recommend getting this brand.

Perfect Afternoon Puzzle - Satisfying Last PieceThe media could not be loaded. A Great puzzle! Solid, challenging but not frustrating, took about 2.5 hours to complete with two people working on it. The themed pieces are a real bonus and placing the final piece was soooo satisfying! Some other reviews mention a lack in quality, but I found this to be a very high-quality puzzle. The print was beautiful, colors were vibrant, and all of the pieces were in perfect shape. 10/10 would recommend - will be buying more.
